That's not my bike

Like the title says, that's not my bike (someday you may hear the story of that bike and why I have random pictures of it).  I added the picture so you can see that the blog title "My Bright Blue House" is not a lie.  My house is REALLY bright blue.

I like it. . . the neighbors do not.  Here is the story of how it came about.

My husband and I bought this house while I was pregnant with our now 2 year old.  We discussed what color to paint it as neither of us liked the current dingy grey with country blue trim.  My favorite color is blue and he has started claiming the same.  So we decided to paint it blue-- not grey blue but real blue.  We went to Home Depot and bought a couple of small sample bottles of paint.  After slapping them on the side of the house, we decided they were too light.

I was tired of traipsing around with a newborn so sent him back to get some darker samples.  He came back with a 5 gallon bucket of this paint.  He set to work painting it with his brother (who now has a painting business but I don't know if he's proud of this house so I'll resist publishing his info).  After finishing half the house, the grumpy neighbor came over and asked if they were drunk or high.  My husband's response?  I guess you don't like the color? (I want to add- no they were not and what a hurtful comment neighbor!)

We drove around our town and are convinced that our house is not the brightest in town.  I love the color as it reminds me of tropical islands.  I also love the pop of white of the trim.

I recently got together with a church group.  We were talking about where we lived and I mentioned my area.  She immediately asked if it was by the bright blue house-- no it IS the bright blue house!

I know blog experts would say I should ask a question here like, "What do you think of a bright blue house?"  Honestly though, I don't care what you think of my bright blue house as it is MY house and I like it.  Comment if you like it too or if you have another positive remark.

I'm linking this up with Works for Me Wednesday because having a bright blue house works for me and it's Wednesday.
